Robert and Natalie's Wedding Gift

This is a cute little paint can I altered for my brother in law and his now wife for their wedding that we went to over this past weekend.  It is based on a cute idea I saw on Lorraine's blog, Paper Vernissage.  It is a newlywed survival kit.

Their wedding colors are pink and green.  I thought I would use that in their gift.  This is filled with little things with cute little tags saying why they are in there.  Like a Snicker's bar because laughter is the best medicine.  I just wanted to put together something really sweet and cute that they would like.

I just covered the paint can with paper, adorned it with Kaiser paper flowers that I put brads in the middle of, and added all the ribbon.  The stuff inside is in small cellophane envelopes.  I made tags out of the same paper and just hand wrote the little notes on each of them.  I think the most fun thing about doing any kind of tin is the ribbon on the handle.  It makes it look like a little party.

If you have not tried an altered tin, you should!  It's so easy and gives such an extra special touch to gifts.  The tins themselves can be reused items that you have around the house ie old coffee cans, mint tins, popcorn tins, etc...

Here's the basic recipe:
Stamps: n/a
Paper: Sandylion Floral Cream Crochet
Ink: n/a
Accessories: Kaiser craft flower, brads, ribbon
Techniques: altered paint can
Difficulty (1-Easy 5-Advanced): 1
