Yes We Can!

Here's the slightly cheesy and super simple card I made for Inauguration Day.  What can I say?  I wanted something to capture the moment but I have very little mojo.  I'm just dealing with a lot of junk that's going on with my family.

But if you know me at all, you should know that today is a day for celebration!  I am a strong believer in equality for all people.  I admire people who can overcome adversity to aspire to greatness.  And I find a lot of hope in this nation as today we make history.  It fills my heart with joy to look at my mixed race son and know that he can be ANYTHING he wants, even the president.

  1. Hi Ashley! This is a wonderful card to remember today. I am just as filled with joy as you are today. It's almost 10pm here in Germany and I'm trying to stay up for the ball but I doubt I can stay up that late.

  2. Hi Ashley, it's Jennifer from SCS Blogger Group 9. I say cheers to that as well! Take care!

  3. I watched Obama take the oath of office and felt it was very moving. I look forward to seeing how he can move the country forward in these times. Hope everythingimproves for you soon.

  4. I totally agree with you. Your card is great and we all need to keep that sentiment in our minds for our future and the future of all of our children.

  5. Isn't it amazing how far we've come as a nation...the opportunities our kids have are mind boggling!! What a great card!!
    hugs, Jami

  7. I am glad I am not the only one that was extremely moved by Inauguration Day, and Barack Obama becoming President. :) Brady would make an awesome President! :)

  8. Love the card! Yes, it was a very historical moment and even though I'm live halfway around the world in Australia, I was still very moved by the occasion. Congratulations USA on your new President!!
    Peace & love
