Going Back to My Roots!

Let me tell you why it pays to leave comments on someone's blog.  A couple days ago, the HILARIOUS Wendi Winn left a comment on my blog.  As promised, I went to visit her blog.  I found that she's hilarious and I think we are on the same humor wavelength.  But that's not all I found on her blog.

What did I find, you ask?  Really really good writing.  She's just very entertaining and you can tell that she's being VERY genuine.  I think if she wrote about grass growing I would read it.  And that's what's bringing me back to my roots.  On all the other blogs I've ever been on, I have always focused on the writing.  I write.  That's my other craft.  It's what I do.  I've written since I was
young.  I have like 1/3 of an act of a screen play even.  (I know, major accomplishment!)  But on this blog, for some reason, I've given myself permission not to write.

Now, I *think* it's because when I read some other peop
le's blogs, I get bored when they just talk about technique so I skim and look at pictures.
And I guess I accepted that maybe that's what I should be doing on my blog.  Well, I was WRONG.  That's not how you get READERS!  I mean, it's all fine and good if people come for the eye candy but I would like for them to stay for the good reads.

So, I'm turning a new leaf so to speak.  I'm going to write and accent my writing with my pictures NOT the other way around.  Now, I will say that this is NOT a judgement about anyone's blog.  This is just what I need to do to be true to myself.

Speaking of leaves, here's a card with some trees.  See how I accented??
Stamps: Unity Tiny Trinity
Paper: brown, beige, white CS
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Stickles Frosted Lace, ribbon, dew drops, gel pen

  1. thanks, ashley. so sweet of you to mention me in your blog!

i shall write about grass growing when i can get mine to. (grow, that is).

now you realize, folks are going to visit my blog expecting hilariousness (i'm a writer, too. i just made up that word). that's a lot of pressure to put on a gal. so you're going to have to change your description of me to "the almost sometimes COMICAL wendiwinn". that'd be better.
