Reject Blog Hop

Hi friends! Whew! What a week! I'm glad the weekend is here! Though, it didn't start off really great. Sigh...what can you do?

This evening, I'm showing you a reject card from the latest Paper Crafts Magazine call. This call was for Go-to Sketches so you will soon be seeing ALL 14 of my rejects (not a single one got picked up) on my blog. Usually, I reserve cards to submit to other calls but since these cards are not based on my original sketches, I will not be doing that this time. So, gear up because rejection week is coming up!

I'm not nearly as bitter as I sound. I think the word rejection is just a harsh sounding word. But I was tickled to see that a gal named Amber put together a Reject Blog Hop. Clever girl! And for funnsies, let's just throw this in the ring for Moxie Fab World's Paper Piecing challenge.

So, here I am linking up my card based on sketch 31 from my pal Emily Branch. I thought this idea was rather genius, I turned the circles into fish and have them swimming upstream. Perfect with the sentiment, don't you agree? And this is what you have to do with publications, just keep swimming. One day, it will be your day. And sometimes, it's harder to have cards accepted a couple times and then get rejected when you feel like you're doing so well. Sometimes it's even harder but you need to pick yourself up and go for the next call with gusto!

Have a great day friends! And for you friends who want to get published, just keep swimming! I know you can get there!

Card Details:
Cardstock: white, yellow
Patterned Paper: Echo Park Little Boy
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Critters in the Sea
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Misc: My Little Shoebox alpha stickers

  2. Ashley, this card is just too cute! You did a great job with this sketch! I couldn't come up with anything for that one.
I didn't get any cards accepted this time either, but I'm totally ok with that. There's always a next time. How fun to have a blog hop to celebrate the "rejects". I think i'll have to post one when i get back into the swing of things next week.
