Getting Back in the Saddle

Hi friends!  I hope that you all are doing well.  We are doing pretty good.  We are enjoying spring here in our neck of the woods.  We still have a couple weeks until spring break though.  We are however keeping busy.  

Today, I am sharing a card I made for a call that wasn't picked up (aka REJECT).  I've started submitting to magazines again.  Well, I really only submitted 3 cards to a holiday card call.  Nothing got picked up. I'm not gonna lie, I was hoping that I would get a card picked for the magazine.  I know that it's not realistic and that these things take time but I was just hoping.  Oh well.  After some deliberation, I decided to share some of the cards instead of saving them for feature submissions.  This card is made with Doodlebug papers and stickers.  I added some shimmery May Arts ribbon and some sequins to be snow.  

Keep your fingers crossed for me for the next call!  I'm having a really hard time finding balance.  I want to craft but at the end of the night I'm just so tired.  I really thought that I'd have a handle on this whole having three kids thing by now but I'm still feeling like I'm barely mucking through.  Have a great day, friends!  

You've Been Booed!

Hi friends!  I hope you are doing well!  We are ok.  I'm just getting over mastitis which was NOT fun.  The kids are having a super fun time right now with all the harvest and Halloween festivities that are going on.  My kids LOVE Halloween!

Speaking of Halloween, a friend of mine wanted to order a few cards from me for some Halloween treats.  She wanted 3x5 inch cards which is a size I never make so it was fun to work with a smaller sized card.  Dustin made the sentiment for me on the computer.  The paper and stickers are from Doodlebug and I used some Halloween Divine Twine to add a cute little finishing touch.

Fresh Squeezed Challenge 1

Hi friends!  I hope you are doing well.  I'm in this uncomfortable part of my pregnancy that I think will probably last until it's over.  I'm just big and awkward.  I'm sure you moms out there know what I'm talking about.

Today, I'm sharing a card I made for the first challenge over on the Fresh Squeezed Stamps Blog.  The first challenge was to make a Halloween project.  They even have a FREE digi you can use if you don't have any Fresh Squeezed Stamps.  Check out the challenge and FREE digi HERE.  I decided to use my Subway Series: Holidays set for my card.  The paper is from Doodlebug.  I cut the little witch out of a piece of patterned paper and put her on here because she's soooo cute!  The ribbons are from May Arts, the orange net and bat cut outs.  If you don't want to enter, would you please still stop by the post and "like" my entry?  The person with the most likes wins a prize and it's super easy!

Fright Night Friends Bitty Bags

Hi friends!  I hope you're having a wonderful week!  We have caught ourselves the first cold of the fall.  :(  This is really really unfair being that it's going to be 100 degrees this weekend!  But with two kids in school, I suspect that this will not be our last cold this year.  Sigh...

Today, I'm sharing my last post for the My Thoughts Exactly Design Team Blog. I decided to show off one of the new Halloween sets, Fright Night Friends.  These little guys are so cute!  I made some little treat bags using some Striped Little Bitty Bags from Whisker Graphics.  These cute little images are the perfect size for Halloween treats!  Not too small but they would fit on a candy nicely.  The paper is from Doodlebug and the ribbon is May Arts 1/8 solid/diagonal stripe ribbon.

Three, Yes THREE New Cards

Hi friends! I hope you are having a wonderful day! My kiddos slept in again! Not as late as yesterday but I'll take it! :D Today, I think we are going to have pajama day and just hang out. We *might* put our clothes on and head to the park but I'm not sure.

Today, I'm sharing a BUNCH of challenge cards I made over the weekend so that I don't turn them in late. With Thanksgiving coming up, I might forget to blog them so I decided to put them all up today.

First up, my card for this week's Ribbon Carousel Challenge. It was a sketch from Laura. But I just realized that I'm LATE for that challenge. However, I'm gonna enter this in THIS week's RCC30 which is Holiday Hoopla. It still works since this is a holiday card. The papers are from Webster's Pages and the ribbon is seam binding that I dyed myself.

Next up is a card for Paper Smooches Sparks challenge where there was a picture to be inspired by. I'm also entering this in the Simon Says Stamp challenge to make a Thank You card. This is also the card I made for this week's SCS Featured Stamper challenge. The featured stamper this week is my friend Tenia and you can check out the card I CASEd HERE. For this card I made Studio Calico paper, Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler, and May Arts ribbon.
Last up, here's a card for the CAS-ual Friday Challenge 29 which is a sketch. I used Doodlebug papers and sticker with a Unity Stamp Co sentiment from Christmas Bough and some bling.

A Halloween Card and a Cause

Hi friends! October is a really hard month for the stamping and paper crafting community. I find that I just can't walk about from these causes especially when such a small contribution is asked from you.

Not too long ago, I saw a post about the owner of Simply Betty Stamps and how her son has cancer and needs surgery. Though Christian should make it through his surgery and be just fine, the family needs some financial help getting him the surgery. As a mom, I couldn't turn away from this. If one of my kids needed a surgery, I wouldn't know what to do. We don't have the means to cover that. I bought a digi stamp to go into their fund. Though it was only a few dollars, I hope it helps a bit. For more info, go HERE.

Here's the card I made with Simply Betty's Pumpkin Mickey Hat Betty. I LOVE this super cute image! Isn't she a doll? I combined this card with a couple challenges. I used Paper Works Co sketch #101, Wee Memories Challenge #71 to make a Halloween card, and Shop Our Stash #21 to use black and orange. The paper is Doodlebug and I colored with Copics.

Dreaming of a Pink Christmas (and a Cure)

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great Friday! We are ok. Dustin and I are sick so we had a slow day. We did head over to the Macaroni Grill to use a free lunch coupon. I LOVE free lunch! YAY! I had some soup and pasta. It did make me feel better!

My pals over at the Jingle Belles are hosting an AWESOME challenge this week! They are donating $2 per card entered into this challenge. The challenge is to make a Christmas card with pink on it! Go HERE for challenge details.

Here's my card for this challenge using some Doodlebug papers and some Stampin Up ribbon. I added a stick pin and done. Easy peasy! I'm also link this card up to the Link Up for Pink linking party for breast cancer.
