Late EIC90 Card and Limelight Challenge

I apologize for the late card. Parker being sick just sucked all the life out of me. His breathing gets sooooo much worse when he's sick. It's super sad. Though his virus seems to be improving, his breathing still sounds quite horrible. Hopefully, it will sound better soon but the doctor says there's really nothing we can do for him other than giving him the inhaler when he sounds really bad. It's a hard situation and I just wish there was some magical cure since it's so hard to have my baby's breathing sound so ragged and difficult. But enough about me.

FINALLY, here's my card for this week's EtsyInspired Challenge for the Sunshyne Silverwear shop. I also used the Limelight Papercrafts sketch and product challenge for this card. The product we are supposed to use is something soft or fluffy. I used flocked designer paper from DCWV for my soft element. The stamp is Ippity from Fall for You. The ribbon is from Michael's and the punch is Martha Stewart.

Hope you all had a great Sunday and have a great rest of your long weekend!

EtsyInspired #88 ~ Creation Designs

Alright, so I am totally late on this week's EtsyInspired challenge. Again, I blame the internet issues I've been having. Rude. Anyhow, the shop for this week is Creation Designs. This shop sells vintage items and items that are made from vintage things like wind chimes, jewelry, and wall hangings. (Did you know that you can buy vintage on Etsy? It's allowed along with handmade items and supplies to make/package your items.) I really like how this shop repurposes the lovely vintage things in a way that you can display them for everyone to see. Seriously, why would you just want to put your gorgeous vintage spoons in a drawer where no one can see them? This week's shop is offering a $20 gift certificate as one of the prizes.

This week, one of my FAVORITE online stores is sponsoring the challenge! Limelight Papercrafts!! They have an amazing selection of the BEST stuff from card making and scrapping like Basic Grey, May Arts Ribbon, Unity Stamps, Lawn Fawn Stamps, etc... Love this shop! Mandy is offering one lucky winner Basic Grey Max and Whiskers buttons and epoxy stickers! Super cute!

All you have to do is play along...
- Visit Creation Designs and find an item that inspires you
- Create a project of your own based off that inspiration
- Link your project up on the
EtsyInspired #88 post on the EIC blog by Friday, May 21 at noon PST

Everyone will be entered into a random drawing to win. If you upload to SCS or PCP, please use keyword EIC88. And please remember to give credit to the shop that you found your inspiration from.

And if this is your first time joining us...welcome! You can check out extra details about our challenge
HERE.

Here's my card for this week. It's inspired by the picture above. The paper here is Basic Grey Indian Summer. The stamp is from Ippity's The Simple Things. I used the EBTKS sketch for this card as well as doing Jessica Witty's phone book challenge.
Visit these lovely ladies for extra inspiration!

Super Late Post

My internet went out on Thurs morning and (to be perfectly honest) when I found out that we wouldn't have an appointment to get it back up until May 19th, I didn't make my card. But now that I've found that there are little spots of my house where I can connect wirelessly using Dustin's laptop, I've decided to make some cards.

Here's my Caffinated Cropper card that I should have posted last Friday. I used the Limelight sketch and product challenge for this card. All the elements are from the May Caffinated Cropper kit except the white card stock. I just used three punches and this card came together super fast.

Don't forget to go over to Amy's blog and buy this awesome kit!

Unity Plus Limelight Equals Happy!

Super quick post since I'm going to be making lunch for 12 people in a couple minutes here. I feel like I've lost my mind! But my friends are having a hard time, so I do what I can.

I combined the Limelight sketch and product challenge (SPARKLES!! Hello, I love it!) with a Unity challenge to use birds or trees on your card to create this. This set is Could I Be Any Cuter which is only sold at Unity retailers, like Limelight. The paper is K&Company.

Have a great day everyone!!

Challenges, Challenges and MORE Challenges!

I managed to squeeze out a little bit of mojo yesterday. It was QUITE the process. I looked at magazines. I read EVERY blog in my Google Reader. I asked peeps on Facebook to link up their blogs. And FINALLY I went around looking at all the challenge blogs. This is what I came up with.

The first card is for 2 Sketches 4 You sketch #47 and Simon Says challenge to make a GIRLY card. Girly is right up my alley. The stamps are Ippity. (Available in my sidebar.) The birds are from What Matters Most and the sentiment is from Simply Home. The frame is GCD. The DP is SU, the ribbon is Bazzill, the button is DeNami, the flower is Prima and the bling is Kaisercraft. The birds have been covered with Sparkly Fluff from Our Craft Lounge.

My next card is for the sketch over at Card Positioning Systems (CPS.) It is sketch number 156. I kind of love this tall sketch since it pushes my outside my A2 box. I will admit, I did think about making this into an A2 card. The stamps again are from Ippity, Sweet Thoughts of Spring. The designer paper is from Basic Grey Sugar Rush. The ribbon is from the $1 spot at Target. The bottom little layer there is yellow vellum from my stash. It's stamped with a scallop stamp from the set and then cut out. Aren't those scallops ADORABLE?!? I love that they have them in stamps now so I don't always have to go to my punches! :) The little chick is paper pieced and adhered with foam tape.

My last card is for two challenges. The Limelight challenge to use Mandy's tutorial for this cute little flower. And also for the Card Patterns sketch, number 53. I had to make the flower a bit smaller than I wanted because my button was too small. So, this flower only has 8 petals instead of 12 like Mandy's. The paper here is from Autumn Leaves. The button is DeNami. The bling is Darice. The sentiment is from Unity's Mix Up of Cuteness. And the ribbon is from Michael's. The die cut is Nesties Label 1.

Hope you have a great rest of your Thursday! I'm ready for the weekend, how about you?

Limelight Sketch Featuring Hearts

Since we aren't really a football family, we'll just be doing the norm today. ACTUALLY, we are going to try to head to Costco in hopes that it's pretty empty. Our Costco is soooooo packed all the time, even during the day on weekdays. It's like people around here don't work! We'll see how it is on Superbowl Sunday.

Here's a card I made for the current Limelight Papercrafts sketch and product challenge. The focus this time is on hearts. :) I love hearts, did you know? Could you tell? Anyhow, I used some Recollections Polka Dot paper and made the stripes with some Bobbin Ribbon grosgrain ribbon. Then I stamped the heart twice, it's Heartfelt Memories from Unity Stamp Co. The first payer is put directly onto the card and then I cut just the heart out and popped it with 3D Dots. Then I just spelled love with some Making Memories stickers. Easy Peasy.

Happy Sunday everyone!

FWF: Black Friday

Happy day after Thanksgiving aka Black Friday! Guess who will NOT be shopping today? It's me! There's NO way I'm dragging my bum out of bed that early when I wake up all night with Mr Crabby Teething Baby. Oh, and sorry for the pictures with flash but I just lost a bunch of the pictures on my memory card INCLUDING half of Parker's first Thanksgiving. I'm not a happy camper. Sigh...

On to the cards. I have two for you today. :) Wow, it's like I had some mojo or something. Though, I do love my Unity Friends With Flair posts.

The first one uses the Mojo Monday sketch (#114) and the Moxie Fab challenge Christmas in the Old Country. I used Unity's Folk Inspired set. The designer paper is Cosmo Cricket's Jolly by Golly. The ribbon is from my stash. The base and image panel is Kraft and the mat is generic blue card stock from Michael's.

My second card is for the Limelight Papercrafts blog sketch and product challenge. The product challenge is to use your favorite designer paper. My favorite designer paper is Basic Grey's Indian Summer which I got from Mandy at Limelight. :) I love love love it! The colors are gorgeous! For the image I used Unity's Go Ahead...Wish KOTM and for the sentiment I used the Feel the Joy set. The ribbon is from Michael's and the staples are HOT PINK! :) And again, I used Kraft paper since I love it!

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you crazy shopping girls got some good deals!

Limelight Sketch Christmas Card

Here's a card I made for the Limelight Papercrafts sketch and product challenge. The product challenge right now is chipboard. I love me some chipboard! Originally, this card was for Noah (a little boy celebrating his last Christmas) however the family celebrated on Nov 8 and have asked that no more cards and gifts be sent. Noah is very sick and they just need peace right now. So, I will keep this card and just pray for Noah and his family.

Ok, this card uses Jolly by Golly from Cosmo Cricket, both the DP and the chipboard. The sentiment is from the OLD Unity Birds of a Feather kit. I don't think the new kit has words in it. And it was just that easy peasy. I wanted something I could send right away and not a lot of embellies that I child could choke on.

Happy Saturday everyone! :)

Getting Sketchy with Some Toilet Paper

Yes, you read correctly. Toilet paper. The adorable Kelly Marie (I like to call her "lil Lawnfawn") came up with the CRAZY challenge to make a card using toilet paper for the Everything But the Kitchen Sink challenge this month. Off the wall and crazy but since she's such a doll and so encouraging, I gave it a go. And I'm pretty happy with it, actually.

I paired this challenge with this week's GetSketchy challenge. The DP is all Basic Grey Sugared. The "stitching" is actually the OBP Noel's Zigzag Stitch stamp I got over at Limelight. And the sentiment is from my Unity Oct 09 KOTM which I finally got on Monday. :) And the butterflies are die cut out of toilet paper.

Hope you all are having a great day!

This is my card for this week. Eeek! It's so not me! It's more trendy than I am but what can you do? Sometimes inspiration just strikes. The designer paper here is Autumn Leaves given to me by my sweet friend Kristen. And here are the Limelight items I used for this card; the sentiment is from Unity's Tiny Trinty, the black and white polka dot ribbon is May Arts, the flowers are from my Prima Bitty Bag (which is the BEST Prima thing I've ever gotten, so many flowers so little money!) and the red rhinestones are Kaisercraft.

I hope you will all play along with the Limelight sketch and product challenge this week. Link your creations to Mandy's blog.

For Meelah's Birthday

A Sunday Confession: I am feeling like the world's most awful mom today! Last night, I was in bed at the late hour of 9:30pm. I thought Dustin had opened the door to the baby's room since we do it every night but he didn't. I didn't ask him, I just heard him close Brady's door and then I heard another door open and I assumed. Come 4am, I woke with a jolt and thought for SURE the baby had stopped breathing, why else would he have not woken up by now?? I ran to the baby's room to see the door was closed. He was fine, of course. But I'm not sure if he cried at all last night and I didn't hear him. :( His room is next to ours, he's just on the other side of the wall but still. I can't be sure and it makes me so sad!

On to the card. Yesterday, we went to Brady and Parker's friend Meelah's first birthday. She is so sweet and so cute! I wanted to make an extra girlie card for her. I used the sketch/product challenge from Limelight Papercrafts. The product challenge was patterned paper and I USED that as you can see. I also used the Paper Maniac challenge, to use ribbon. Those three purple strips are American Crafts ribbon. The pink paper is SU. The purple paper is PTI. The image is CC Designs.

Happy Sunday everyone!

Limelight Baby Card

Oh thank goodness I can blog again! My keyboard was broken and Dustin just went to Staples and got me a new one with our Staples Rewards Dollars. It sure does pay to recycle your old ink cartridges!

Here's a card I made for last week's Limelight sketch and product challenge. The product focus was stickers. I used a Colorbok chipboard sticker. The stamp is from Pink Cat Studio's Dress Me Sweetpea. The designer paper is Stampin Up. I used Prismacolor pencils to color in the image. Easy peasy.

Scroll to the next post down for blog candy!

Buzz Buzz!

I am just in love with this yellow, black and white color combination right now. I can't seem to go a week without using it. Maybe it's because we watch Bee Movie everyday! :) Probably. So, thank you Brady!

This card is for the Limelight sketch and product challenge. The product we were supposed to use is paint. I used Shimmerz Blings in gold on the wings of the bee. I always give wings some sort of treatment since I think they should be translucent and magical looking. The stamp is from Unity's June 09 KOTM. I have no idea what the DP is. The ribbon is from the $1 bin at Michael's. And the bling is Kaiser Craft.

I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday! PS If you live near a Jamba Juice, today is the last day for THIS buy one get one free coupon. Enjoy!

Little Limelight Challenge And My NEW Blog Layout!

So, what do you think of my new blog layout? Super duper cute, huh? The amazingly talented De did it for me! Isn't she a genius? I gave her barely any direction (pink, girlie, and crafty) and look at the PERFECTION she created! It's FABULOUS!

This is a card I made a couple of days ago for the Limelight Sketch challenge this week. The product focus is sentiments so I used this amazing sentiment which I love. The bike and sentiment are from Unity's Everyday Adorable kit. I just added dew drops and some dots to the scalloped border I made with scissors. The DP is from Target's $1 section. (I'm a budget conscious girl sometimes.)

Happy Sunday friends!

Limelight Sketch and an Awesome CAUSE

I made this card for the sketch challenge going on right now on the Limelight Blog. The product challenge is to use buttons. I love me some buttons! The image here is from Pink Cat Studio. The designer paper is from Doodlebug Design Inc. And the Cuttlebug embossing folder is Floral Fantasy. I also used Diamond Stickles on the pink frame around Lily to give my card some sparkle, because pink and sparkly is the BEST! :)

Also, you HAVE to go over to THIS POST on the Cosmo Cricket blog. They are donating $1 for every comment they receive up to $1000 to a local food bank. So, go over, leave a comment, and spread the word!
