HHH: Tree Style!

So, I don't know who came up with it but this HHH is supposed to have a tree theme. I racked my brain which is rather difficult since I'd been up since 4:30am. This card didn't come out exactly how I had hoped and DID NOT make it in time to be submitted for the hip hop challenges but here it is in all it's "tree glory."

The stamp is Unity of course. It hadn't been inked up so I thought I would go with it instead of a Giggle Grove tree. I think it's festive. The designer paper is DCWV which I have been using UP with week. The ribbon is from Michael's. And the CB folder has ornaments on it. I don't know what it's called, I just got this paper in a WRAK.

Happy Friday everyone! Hugs!

HHH: One Layer

***My post is kind of a downer, sorry!***

My mojo is a little on the fritz. It's been an especially hard week with my grandpa's funeral. Then to top it off, I learned that my grandmother was diagnosed with lung cancer. My mind, body, and spirit are just tired. But hopefully, I'll be back to my normal self soon.

This is a one layer card I made. I love all the quotes that Angela chooses to make into stamps. She's so good at picking beautiful and motivational quotes. This one and the flower stamp are from Unity's August 09 KOTM. Easy Peasy!

Have a good weekend all! Thanks for visiting!

Another CASE of HHH

Wow, it's already Friday! How did that happen? Not that I'm complaining. It's just that all my days seem to blur together now.

This is a card I made for this week's Featured Stamper on SCS. The stamper was the lovely Joanne. You can see her beautiful card HERE. I changed up the papers/color scheme, the stamp set, left off a layer, and added some more embellishment. The stamp is from Unity's 09 KOTM. The DP is all Basic Grey Bittersweet.

I'm a bit spent for this week so I will just bid you all a good weekend! Check back tomorrow for some EtsyInspired!

HHH: Thank Goodness It's Friday!!

Well, Friday means only one more day of work before Dustin is off for the week. And by that I mean he works Saturday too. But hey, we're getting close and that's all that matters. This week has been a challenge.

Speaking of challenges, I made this card for the Clean and Simple challenge on SCS this week. The challenge was to use stitching or faux stitching on your projects. I used faux stitching since I don't know how to sew. The stamp is Unity's 3 Whooligans. So fun, huh?

Happy Friday everyone! Have a good weekend!

HHH: Well Sort Of

So, CHA is over and the Unity crew is packing up to go home. That being the case, there will be no HHH post on the Unity blog today. That's why it's only "sort of" a HHH. :) I hope you guys have a safe trip home Unity crew!

This is a card I made for the Clean and Simple challenge this week on SCS. It was a sketch challenge. I used Unity's Folk Inspired kit. I added ribbon and the Cuttlebug folder is Swiss Dots. I really like how this turned out. I just colored the image first and pulled in the rest to match. I usually work the other way around so it was an experiment of sorts.

Don't forget about the AWESOME EtsyInspired event we have going on tomorrow! For each friend you refer to the challenge, you get one entry into a drawing for a $25 gift certificate to Paper Makeup! I wish I could win! I love PMS! Teehee, who ever thought you'd say that about PMS? ;)

Happy Friday friends!

HHH: Bee-lieve!

***DO YOU WANT A CHANCE TO WIN SOME UNITY?? Come back tomorrow and check out the EtsyInspired post! We have a special prize!!***

Super duper quick post since I really should be in bed at this moment. I'm currently trying to wean myself off napping so by 10pm, I'm pretty much a zombie. Hopefully, this post will make sense.

Here's a card I made for the SCS Sketch Challenge this week using Unity. The bee is from Unity's June 09 KOTM and the sentiments are from Unity's Everyday Adorable. The bees have Diamond Stickles on their wings and Black Diamond Stickles on the black stripe.

Happy Friday everyone!

HHH: Right Back in the Box!

So, that darn box has pulled me back in. Well, I'll admit that I already had the image colored so that was a deciding factor in what I was going to do with this card. However, I should say that it's not a permanent move back into the comfortable little stamping box.

This card was made using the Wednesday Sketch challenge on SCS. The image is from Unity's May KOTM. I colored it and then added Stickles to the centers of the flowers. The designer paper is Amy Butler, I love Amy Butler! And then of course, in true Ashley fashion, there's bling.

Happy Hip Hop Hangover Day everyone!

HHH: A Treat

I managed to make another card this week and thought that I would share it with you. This card was made for SCS's Clean and Simple challenge this week. The challenge was to use some sparkles on your card. That's easy enough for me!

This card uses Unity's June KOTM, Perfect in Every Way. The pink ice cream has Stickles all over it. I actually cut out the ice cream cone twice. Once for the base layer and once for just the ice cream. It has a lot of dimension in real life.

And now for another treat! I have a picture of the kids to share with you! I know that I'm super biased but my kids are just SOOOOO cute! Parker had his two week appointment yesterday, the boy weighs in at 10lbs 10.5oz! He's a GOOD eater!

Happy 4th of July weekend everyone!

HHH: Parker's Eviction Notice

I actually made this card LAST week for the Limelight sketch challenge. When I uploaded it to SCS, I jokingly called it an eviction notice for Parker and it worked! Wow! Maybe Angela should tell people about how her stamps can induce labor! ;)

I used Unity's Little Me. That's me and Parker on the card. Well, it would be if I was more stick like. The designer paper is some that my friend Dawn sent me. I pulled the color scheme from the paper in the middle. I thought purple would be ok to use even though Parker is a boy since the purple is for me. :)

Happy weekend everyone!

HHH, My Last for a While

So, sadly, I think this is going to be my last Hip Hop Hangover post for a while.  I actually wasn't even going to do one but since I have some cards already made, I figured I might as well.

This first card was made for Lisa's Limelight Anniversary challenge to use the colors passion pink, summer sun, and chocolate chip.  I don't have those colors so I tried to come as close as I could with what I have.  The stamp is from Unity's Everyday Adorable.  Such a fun set!  I love it!  I used Stickles on the chick and the flower.  This actually has a lot of embellishments for me.  A prima, ribbon, dew drops, and a brad.  I also put Stickles on my brad since I refuse to pay extra for the glittery ones.  But I still think it manages to look clean and simple.

This next card is the SCS card sketch from this week.  Again, lots more layers than I'm used to, but still looking rather clean.  Maybe I'm getting good at this.  :)  This is paper that my sweet friend and DT member Kristen sent to me.  It's Autumn Leaves.  The stamp is from Unity's March KOTM.  I added a little bit of Stickles to the flower on the sentiment and that's it!

Happy Friday everyone!  Check back tomorrow for a new EtsyInspired Challenge!

Friday! HHH Day!

I feel like I was barely at Hip Hop yesterday. I suppose that's ok. I mean, I am a bit busy with being pregnant and having Brady and all. I miss my friends though. Love those girls! Unity has some amazing fans! Angela is having some huge deals this week! Check out the Unity site for details!

I'm sharing a couple Unity cards I made this week. The first one is for last Sunday's featured stamper, Mercy Kerin. You can see the card I CASEd HERE. I simplified this a bit. I left off layers and embellishments. I changed the stamp set and of course the paper. I put some Stickles on the bee (the black stripes and the wings) and added some little dew drops. This card uses Unity's Everyday Adorable set which I just love. Two of my friends (Lindsay and Tanis) created this set. It's just super cute and I love it!

My next card is for Dustin's birthday. It's from Brady. :) I don't know how I'm gonna make a card from Parker, but we'll see. I am in LOVE with this Unity set! It's called Little Me. I just think it's ADORABLE! There are mommy/girl images too but this one just steals my heart. Something about a little boy and his daddy. The words are from Unity too, I got them out of a grab bag so I'm not sure what set they are from. I hand wrote the B behind the sentiment.

This is a sketch from the Stampin Out Alzheimer's event as well. There's some amazing inspiration over there! And some awesome giveaways! Hope you all are over there checking it out!

Friday! YAY!

Happy Hip Hop Hangover everyone!  I hope you all had a lovely Thursday and an awesome weekend planned for you!

Here's the last of my vacation/VSN cards.  This was for a challenge with a sketch that looks like a slot machine.  I used this adorable butterfly from Unity's September KOTM.  And all the paper, other than the base, is Basic Grey Gypsy that my friend Kristen sent to me.

Off to start my day, sorry about the late post!  Hugs!

HHH and More of My Friend Parade

I can't really blame Hip Hop for my "hangover" feeling today.  I stayed up late with the hubs watching TV.  Then I just couldn't get to sleep.  Have I mentioned how GIGANTIC I am lately?  Because I am.  And it's impeding my sleep and I don't like it!

Alright, more cards inspired by my sweet friends.  This is my Kristen card.  Sweet, extremely young, and amazingly talented Kristen.  :)  Something about a pink dress form reminds me of Kristen.  The lace I used on this card is a RAK I got from Kristen.  Ok, so I don't have deep reasons why I made this card based on her.  Sue me.  It was my first one.  This card was also for the SCS sketch challenge this week.  It uses Unity's April KOTM.

This next card is my Jacquie card.  I used Unity's Argyle Heart because as Kristen put it "Jacquie's heart is big and beautiful."  Now, you have to see why I love my friends so much!  They are so sweet and so dear!  Jacquie likes to distress her cards and I rarely do so I pulled out my distressing tool just for her.  Let me tell you, it did not want to cooperate with me!  It was saying "you never distress patterned paper!  What are you doing?"  This is unique and pretty, that's what I was going for because that's what Jacquie is.

Happy Friday everyone!

The Party Continues! HHH

Unity's anniversary week continues!  Today is Unity's actual birthday, May 1!  Happy Birthday Unity!!  And many, many more to come!  I love this company!  It's one of my very favorites and the people are just the BEST!

Here's a card I made for a Hip Hop challenge.  The challenge was to use a scalloped, torn, or some sort of decorative edge on your card.  I chose to use scallops.  I made this card for my close friend who just found out she's going to be having a little girl!  YAY!  I'm so excited!  Parker will have a girlfriend!  ;)  The stamp is Unity's Tickled Pink.  The squares are Pez-a-Bling and the rest is pretty self explanatory.

I have TONS to do and blog about today!  I will be back around noon with the EtsyInspired winner for this week and that post will also be for the DT sign ups.  Happy Friday my friends!

Hip Hop Hangover!

I put together a little energy and mojo yesterday to make a couple of cards for Unity's Hip Hop.  If you have gone to Hip Hop, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING for?  It's soooo fun!  We hang out in the SCS forum, have challenges, prizes are given away, and there's lots of fun chatting with a group of amazing ladies.

These cards are for Mandy's collection of cards that are going to go to the kids in the hospital.  I sure hope that the kids like these cards!  It's kind of hard to make cards that fit challenges and work for kids cards.  But I think I am managing.

I'm going to try to put together more cards today.  Hopefully I can find some mojo.  I'm not going to work today.  They are having a field trip and lots of  parents are going so I'm not really needed.  That and I'm just exhausted!
