Health at Every Size May 21

I was recently contacted by Health at Every Size (HAES) Sacramento Movement to try to spread the word about their event.  I read up on them and I love what they stand for so I choose to share the info with all of you.

HAES is trying to spread the word that taking care of your health doesn't have to be about weight loss and that healthy people come in all different shapes and sizes.  I love this!  Now, I'll be the first to say that I could stand to be MUCH healthier.  I really should try to eat more fruits and veggies and try to get more sleep and be more active but overall my health is good.  I have no weight related health issues; my heart, cholesterol, and blood pressure are great!  However, I've heard a lot of people commenting on people with my shape saying they must be unhealthy.  The fact of the matter is, some people are just bigger.  I have multiple friends who eat very healthy and work out MULTIPLE times a day and have a plus sized frame, that is just how their body is shaped.  As a society we need to embrace that healthy does not equal thin and thin does not always equal healthy.

If you feel the same way, this event might be for you.  They will be having a speaker, storytellings, engaging activities, delicious snacks, raffles, door prizes, and more!  You can check out HAES Live Facebook Event for more information.
