Sweet 16

Hi friends!  I hope you're having a great week!  We are really embracing the summer this year!  We've been out doing activities every day this week.  We are taking it easy this morning after staying late at a pizza place last night for dinner with friends.  We have no plans for today so we'll see where that takes us.

Today, I'm sharing a card I made for publication that wasn't picked up aka a reject card.  I actually really like this card.  I made it with a couple Mint Motif stamp sets and some Heidi Swapp Sugar Chic paper.  I think that these papers are really fun and perfect for a teenager.  I added some gems to complete the design.  Now if only I knew someone turning 16...
Have a great day, friends!

i{h}p Challenge

Hi friends! I hope you are well. Today was my first full day on my new medications. I'm feeling a bit of side effects but I'm still hopeful that this will work for me. Tomorrow, Brady has a field trip to the art museum so fingers crossed that I'm well enough to attend with him. If not, Dustin will go, it's his day off work.

Today, I'm blogging a card that I made for the i {heart} papers March Challenge. The challenge is to do the blog hop and be inspired by one of the creations. I choose to be inspired by THIS CARD by Lori Tecler. She inspired me to use the Mint Motif School Basics set. I also wanted to incorporate a circle into my card inspired by her design. The paper is Authentique Celebrate. I finished off with a tiny piece of May Arts string.
Hope you are having a fabulous night!

Love is Sweet

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great day! Pick up from school went well yesterday. The teacher and aids said that it only took Brady a few minutes to get used to being at school once we left. That's good to hear. If only he would just get excited about being there. I think he will with time.

I made this card a while ago but haven't gotten around to blogging it. My friend Kate said she's feeling a little unloved so I figured I would post a card using some of the EXCLUSIVE stamps from her store, i {heart} papers. Nothing says love like plugging your friend's store right? Joking aside, I LOVE LOVE LOVE i {heart} papers! I shop there ALL the time! She has great prices, super fast shipping, new products, and exclusive stamp lines which I love.

For this card, I used Mint Motif. I love these gorgeous stamps! I paired the Sweet Hearts set with some Bo Bunny paper. This set is fabulous for Valentine's, love, anniversary, kids, and so much more! The gum balls are rhinestones that I colored with Copics. I used some Cherry Divine Twine and a little silver gel pen to finish this up.
Have a great day everyone!

House Congrats

Happy Friday, friends! I hope you had a great week! I haven't felt that great all week and I'm hoping my doctor will order more tests for me. We shall see.

Ok, here's a card I made with Mojo Monday sketch 197 and Gallery Idol. Gallery Idol results will be posted first thing in the morning, wish me luck! This card uses a Hero Arts house stamp and a sentiment from Mint Motif. The paper here is Echo Park Country Drive and I finished with some Divine Twine.

Have a great weekend everyone! OOHHH!! And if you are in the Bay Area, come visit me at Our Paper Place in Newark on Sunday! I will be there purging supplies at their garage sale!

RCC10 Paper Piecing With Jessie!

Hi friends! I hope you had a great 4th of July! It was HOT here! :) Guess that's what summer is all about!

I'm on this week for the Ribbon Carousel Challenge. This week's theme is Paper Piecing and our hostess is the lovely Jessie Knight Rone who I LOVE LOVE LOVE. :D And just like Jessie, I love paper piecing! So, this challenge was an easy peasy one for me. Just remember, anytime you play along with the Ribbon Carousel Challenge you need to use ribbon, twine, trim, lace, or something that comes on a spool!

Here's my card for this week. I used Mint Motif Cake Shoppe and Cake Shoppe Too. I used sheer ribbon as my spool element. The paper is Bo Bunny.
Please go to the Ribbon Carousel Challenge to read up on the rules and link up your creations!

Mint Motif GIVEAWAY!!!

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great week! YAY for Friday! This week just dragged on. :( I'm excited for this weekend though, the boys are having their birthday party. Woohoo! I can't wait!

I'm sharing a card today that I made for Gallery Idol. I'm using some of my favorite stamps from Mint Motif available only at I {Heart} Papers. I love these stamp sets for building cards! I don't usually do a lot of two step stamping but this set is so fun! For this card, I used Cake Shoppe and Cake Shoppe Too! Did you know that these stamps are designed by my pal Kimberly Crawford? She's SO talented! The paper is Little Yellow Bicycle. I used my Nesties to cut a circle and then I added some Stickles to the edge. I punched the border with a Fiskars punch and added some ribbon.

Ok, how for the FUN part! I have duplicates of both these sets and I'm giving them away here on my blog today! Woohoo!

Mint Motif Card and I HEART Kimberly Crawford

This card comes with a story. :) Back in January, I had the pleasure of meeting Kimberly Crawford at CHA. Sadly, I didn't know who she was but everyone told me how amazing she is and how talented. She was BEYOND sweet to me, but I'm pretty sure she's just that nice to everyone. I figured, she's just a nice person and I was lucky to meet her but I'll probably never talk to her again. But I was wrong, we became Facebook friends and kept in touch a little, just like any old Facebook friends do. (Here's the only pic I have with both Kimberly and I in it.)

Honestly, I thought that with someone as talented and amazing as Kimberly, she'd eventually just forget me since I'm just a little person (I mean that figuratively, I'm not little in size.) But I was wrong, when I'm sad, Kimberly reaches out to me. She's is beyond nice and I have no idea what I did to deserve this kind of sweetness! This leads me to my card.

I made this card with Kimberly in mind, because she really is the sweetest. She makes me feel special. :) Kimberly launched a stamp line called Mint Motif a couple months ago. I bought mine at I Heart Papers where they are exclusively sold. These stamps are really cute and of super high quality. For this card, I used Very Square and Very Square Sentiments. I love this stamps! They are awesome! I just used a couple of my Ippity inks, some white and kraft card stock, a square punch and presto, card! Easy as can be! I'm entering this in the Moxie Fab World Clean and Graphic challenge.

Anyhow, thanks Kimberly for being so sweet and making me feel special! You are FABULOUS!
