Stampendous Jan 2014 Challenge

Hi friends!  I hope you're having a great day!  I'm doing good.  Yesterday was the first day I felt fully better since I got sick last Sunday.  It was brutal.  I think it would have been much much worse had I not had a flu shot.  It felt like a flu but not as severe.  Avery on the other hand isn't get better.  Mostly because she's being a stinker about her medicine.  She spits it right back out.  Every.  Single.  Time.  I have no idea what to do.

Today, I'm sharing a card I made for the Stampendous Jan 2014 Challenge which is to interpret your New Year's resolution onto a card.  Well, I don't do resolutions but I do One Little Word.  My OLW for this year is Accomplish and part of that is blogging and creating more.  I pulled out the one Stampendous stamp I have and got to work.  If you've been around my blog for a long time, you know that I used to do some vintage cards.  I'm a bit rusty, not gonna lie.  But if I don't practice, it won't come back.  I used some Crate Paper Maggie Holmes paper and ephemera.  I used mist on the image, a doily, lace tape, and some sequins.   The sentiment is a stamp from Flourishes.
Have a great day, friends!

Welcome to the Family

Hi friends!  I hope you're having a great day!  We are doing ok.  I just have some sciatic pain that will not go away.  I'm guessing it won't go away until I have the baby.  What can you do?  I'm 35 weeks right now so hopefully the baby will be here soon!

Here's a card I made for a call that wasn't picked up.  Again, I need to brush up on my vintage/shabby chic cards.  I used some paper from Webster's Pages.  The sentiment is from My Thoughts Exactly.  I added some May Arts pearl lace, a pearl flourish, a single pearl, and a doily.
Have a great day, friends!

Deer Little One

Hi friends!  I hope you are having a great day!  I'm blogging on the My Thoughts Exactly Design Team Blog and thought I'd share my creation over here too.

Today, I've decided to make a baby card because I know SO many people who are having babies right now.  It's such a joyful thing, isn't it?  I've noticed that a lot of my baby sentiments are the same and I was so happy to find this "Welcome Little One" sentiment in my More Mini Thoughts set.  The fonts on this set really lend themselves to any style of card making.  For this card, I decided to go with a more vintage look.  The image is from Wilson Designs.  The paper is Crate Paper and the lace tape is from Love My Tapes.  I used burlap string from May Arts and added some pearls, a doily, and a button.

Have a great day friends!

Use Your Negatives!

Hi friends! I'm blogging today on the Love My Tapes Blog and wanted to share the projects here as well.

I took some pieces of fabric tape and made a rectangle on some card stock. Then I die cut it. This first card features the butterfly I cut out. I made it using (from left to right) Ava, Lily,Madison, Emily, and Brooke fabric tapes. Then I used the 17 mm Beige Lace Tape on the card. The paper is Cosmo Cricket Evangeline and the sentiment is from The Cat's Pajamas Simply Said. I used the Sketch N Stash #85 for this. My stash item is the Cuttlebug butterfly die that I never reach for anymore.
For this card, I used the negative of my die cut. I figured that I shouldn't waste it. I used the same papers and stamp set as the above card. I added some seam binding and some pearls to this card.

Oh Baby!

Hi friends! I hope you had a lovely weekend! We had a great Easter with the kids! :D Brady enjoyed himself so much and as my little introvert, it really warmed my heart when he said "Mommy, that is a VERY nice Easter." Of course, Parker thinks that any day with candy is the best ever so I didn't have to worry about that.

Today, I'm sharing a baby card I made. We have several new babies coming into our family this year and I'm so excited! I'm loading up on baby cards to send. I used My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Howdy Doody for this card, that's the paper, journaling die thing, and the pin. The lace is from Creating is Fun. I added some seam binding too.

Egg Carton Crafts

Hi friends! I hope you had a lovely day! We had a VERY full day! We went to an Easter egg hunt put on by our town then had lunch. We came home then colored eggs and made crafts with the empty egg cartons.

Here are the bugs the kids made. I saw something like this on Pinterest, it's from Kaboose (project HERE.) Then just pulled out what supplies I had and tried to re-create it. Well, the kids just got to use the supplies how they like and we helped them with the cutting and gluing.
And then I decided to use the egg carton to make my own craft. I saw this idea on Pinterest but I didn't use a specific tutorial. I just kind of went with it. I used two of the egg carton cups, trimming them and cutting petals. Then I sprayed them with shimmer mist. I added a crotchet flower and a pearl button from Creating is Fun.

For the card I used Chupa's Sketchbook Saturday Challenge #54. I am also entering this in the Moxie Fab World Household Items Challenge. The paper is Cosmo Cricket's Tea for Two. The stamps are Mini Thoughts from My Thoughts Exactly. Both trims are from Creating is Fun. The leaves are made using a Martha Stewart punch.
Have a great day friends!

Crafty Friends Challenge 1

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! I'm not doing that great. Yesterday, I had a huge meltdown. After being sick for 7 weeks, I just wept. I feel better emotionally today but physically worse. Gah! I sense round 5 of antibiotics in my future. Oh well.

I decided to play along with the Crafty Friends Challenge which is a brand new challenge put on by some of my favorite crafters like Beate Johns, Jenn Balcer, and Nina Brackett and several other talented ladies. Challenge 1 is vintage. Now, I have a confession. I had to remake the wedding card for Dustin's cousin because I decided to keep the first one I made them so I could submit it. :( I know. I'm horrible! But don't you worry, I personalized this one so I wouldn't be tempted to keep it as well. I used Crate Paper paper and stickers. The doily and the lace are from Creating is Fun. You NEED to shop at this store if you love making vintage things! Everything is 40% off right now if you use code: APRILFUN40.
Have a great day, friends!

Hexagon Challenge

***Please scroll down for the Paper Made Bakery Sneak Peek post or CLICK HERE to view my post on the Paper Made Bakery Blog.***

Hi friends! I hope you are having a lovely day! I'm not feeling so hot. I felt great yesterday. I got up and took Brady to school. Then Parker and I went grocery shopping. I did some chores, picked up Brady, and ended the day with sushi and shopping with a great friend. And I'm PAYING for it today. Every bit of me is so sore and tired. I guess I need to stick to only doing one or two things a day until my meds have had at least a week to kick in. :(

Here's a card I made for the Create Blog challenge this week, to make a card with hexagons or honeycomb patterns. I used some My Mind's Eye paper with Sweet Stamp Shop's Sweet Victoria stamp set to make a vintage card. I accented with Love My Tapes 19mm white Lace Tape and a pearl. Speaking of Love My Tapes, there's still time to enter the lace challenge, details HERE.
Have a great day, friends!

Vintage Floral

Hi friends! I hope you are having a lovely day. My kids are BOTH sick with a cold. GAH! I'm really hoping I don't get it because I honestly don't need a cold on top of everything else! The kids are in good spirits though, just coughing and runny noses. It has not dampened their energy AT ALL! Crazy kids!

Today, I'm sharing a card I made for the Create Blog for CARDS Mag. The challenge was to use vintage florals on your card. I used some Webster's Pages paper. Oh yes. Webster's Pages is always good for vintage floral. The sentiment is from Flourishes. The lace, button, doily, and trim are all from Creating is Fun.
Have a great day, friends!

Vintage Mother's Day

Hi friends! Hope you are having a great day! I'm mediocre. I wish it would stop raining so that the kids could go outside though. They really need to run around. We haven't left the house much since I'm not feeling well. Hopefully things will be better soon.

Today, I'm sharing a card I made for a call that wasn't picked up. I used some new stamps from Lisa Pace for Pink Persimmon. She's signed it for me at CHA! Isn't she the sweetest? The sentiment is from Unity Stamp Co. I used some pretty beige lace from Creating is Fun. The paper is Basic Grey Kissing Booth.
Have a great day, friends!

Vintage Cameo Card

Hi friends! I hope you are well! I'm trying to get better still. Every time I feel like I'm getting better, I try to get things done and then I just feel worse again. It's so stressful and I'm so annoyed right now. If you could spare a positive thought or prayer, I would really appreciate it.
Here's a card I made when I was cropping at Green Tangerines a couple weeks back. This is from before I got sick and I think you can really see it in the quality of my work. What can you do? My friend Gina let me use some of her stamps from Wow Embossing, she also gave me the piece of string on the card and I really have to say it makes it. And I can't remember what these papers are. :( Maybe Webster's? Maybe MME? I'm too tired to figure it out. The lace tape is from Love My Tapes.

Speaking of Love My Tapes, there's a vintage with lace challenge over on the blog right now that you should enter. Details HERE.

Have a great day, friends!

Birdcage Wishes

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great day! We are doing pretty good. We had a very low-key Valentine's Day. Brady is having his Valentine's party today at school since he only goes M/W/F and Monday was a holiday here. I will post pictures of the stuff I made for him later on.

Here's a card I made while I was cropping with my friends last weekend. Wanna know the best part about cropping with your friends? Well, other than spending time with your friends? Using their stuff! ;) I know, I'm horrible! But I get so bored with my own stuff! For this card, I borrowed my friend Marie's new Studio G birdcage stamp. Like she bought it and I used it before she even got a chance too. But hey, that's what best friends are for, right? Anyhow, I used a ton of trims, a button and a doily from the Creating is Fun store for this one. I think I'm gonna do a video on how I distress doilies. :D The paper is from Pink Paislee Sweetness and the sentiment is NEW Dear Lizzy Neapolitan.
Have a great day, friends!

November 2011 SFYTT

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great day! We are tired today! Brady went back to school and we all had to wake up early to him there. Perhaps we should have signed up for afternoon preschool! :) I'm ready for a nap but the kids are not.

Today, I'm sharing my card for Jen del Muro's Nov 11 Sketch For You To Try. I decided to make a vintage card with my new Hero Arts stamp that I got at my LSS for 50% off. The paper is Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden and I added LOTS of Stickles to this. (PS since Christmas decor has gone up, you're gonna see these Christmas lights in my pictures from now on. It's not a statement, it's because I take my pictures on my mantle and we decorate it for Christmas and I'm not taking it down everyday to take pics!)
Have a great day, friends!
