Springtime Bird House

Hi friends!  I hope you're having a great day!  We are doing ok around here.  We are slowly getting into a routine and I'm sleeping enough to keep me going through the day (most nights).  I can't believe my baby is already over 9 weeks old!  It goes by SO fast!

Today, I'm sharing a project that screams spring to me.  I love when the sun comes out, the flowers start blooming, and the birds are singing.  I decided to alter a small wooden birdhouse for decor.  I ripped apart some paper from My Mind's Eye and used Mod Podge to adhere it onto the birdhouse.  Then I added some May Arts ribbon using some i {stick} papers red line tape from i {heart} papers.  I'm linking this up to the Paper Issues Spring Challenge.

Quick Gift Idea

Hi friends!  I hope you're having a great day!  I'm still here.  Hoping to have this baby before Christmas.  It's looking bleak though.  :/  That's ok.  It will happen when it happens.

Today, I'm sharing a present I made for a friend with you.  I started with some inexpensive Glade candles.  I like these kinds of candle.  I can't justify paying $20 for Yankee candles.  I'm sure they are fabulous but I'm cheap.  ;)  I used some OLD May Arts burlap and some newer May Arts pearl lace to decorate these.  It was a pretty quick project but I really think it elevates these simple little candles.

PMB: Cherry Blossom Recap

Hi friends!  I hope you're having a wonderful day and a fabulous weekend!  We are still deciding what to do today and being that it's closing in on 11am, we might just be doing nothing.  Oh well.

Teacher Gifts

Hi friends!  I hope you are well!  I'm not feeling so great.  I was up from 4am-6am this morning coughing. I'm hoping that doesn't repeat tonight.

I just wanted to share a super quick project that I made during teacher appreciation week LAST MONTH that I never posted to my blog.  I wanted to do several days of small gifts and on the last day I gave the teachers some Starbucks gift cards.  This was one of the small gifts.  I took buckets from the dollar spot at Target and personalized them with stickers also found at the dollar spot at Target to create these cute custom buckets.  Then Brady picked some flowers from our garden and I arranged them in here for him.  I was thinking that these buckets would be great for things like storing pens, markers, paint brushes, etc... after the flowers died.

Chalkboard Reveal

Hi friends! I hope you're well! It's raining here so hopefully, I will be up to getting out and about soon or my children will go STIR CRAZY! Next week is spring break, so let's REALLY hope that the weather is better by then.

And today, I wanted to reveal the whole project. I made this for the Moxie Fab World Paper Scraps challenge. I used all the scraps from my Sunday Afternoon Kit from Paper Made Bakery. I still have TONS of paper left but I wanted to use up my scraps.

The chalkboard is from Darice, I got it at Joann Fabrics. I punched 1 inch squares from my scraps. I used Mod Podge to put it on the wood around the chalkboard and then I trimmed off the excess. I painted a layer of Mod Podge over the top. I took the bottle cap embellishment and die cut a circle from some of the same Webster's Pages Sunday Afternoon paper. I added a picture of the kids that came free with Brady's school pictures. Then I glued it to the chalkboard and added some gems, also from the kit.

Just a Note(book)

Hi friends! Today, I'm sharing a notebook I made for the Love My Tapes blog.

Altered notebooks are great to give as gifts or part of a gift. You can make any size and customize them for the person you are going to give it to. I used the Love My Tapes Lace Tape in Beige. The lace tapes are a perfect embellishment from notebooks because they are flat and adhered all the way down so they will not catch things when you place your notebook in a purse or a backpack. The paper is Cosmo Cricket and the sentiment is an SRM sticker.

Earth Love Journal

Hi friends! I hope you are having a great night! We are all prepped and ready for Thanksgiving. I'm excited! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, if you'll be celebrating.

Here's another journal that I made for the craft fair a couple weeks ago. I used some Cosmo Cricket Earth Love papers and stickers. I added some Thickers to spell the word journal.

Glam Notebook

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! We are doing good. Today is the first day of Brady's Thanksgiving break from school and the kids slept in this morning! Brady woke up after 9:30am and Parker woke up at 10:15am. WOW! Great way to start our break!

Today, I'm showing another journal I made for my craft fair. This one is make with Cosmo Cricket's Ever After collection, seam binding and some Recollections bling. Just a more elegant and lovely type of journal.

Boyfriend Journal

Hi friends! I hope you are doing well! We are having a low key weekend and by low key I mean I've done NOTHING! Gah! I should probably do SOMETHING. Oh well. ;)

Here's a project I made for my craft fair that didn't sell. None of the journals I made sold but that's ok. I had them priced at $8 each. I used Cosmo Cricket's The Boyfriend collection for this journal. I left the journalling part blank so that it can be personalized.

Love My Tapes Headband and Card

Hi friends! I hope you are having a fabulous day! We are making it. :) The kids are a wee bit crazy today. But we have their auntie coming to visit and have dinner later so they will be THRILLED!

Here's a project that I blogged on the Love My Tapes blog today.

All I did was take a plain headband and wrap it in some Baylee Fabric Tape. This was really simple to do. It didn't take too much tape, you could probably make 5-6 headbands from one roll of tape! The flower is from Hair Doodles. I have tons of flowers from there and now I can make cute headbands to match!

While I was getting crafty, I decided to pull together a fun little card inspired by the Hero Art sketch on Lily Pad Cards. This sketch just BEGS for some Love My Tapes Lace Tape. I used the light pink, lime and 17mm beige tapes for this. I made the big flower with a Cosmo Cricket Gluber and Pink Satin Pleated Ribbon from Ribbon Carousel. Speaking of Ribbon Carousel, this card fits in perfectly with the current challenge RCC22 alter your ribbon. The sentiment is from Hero Arts.

Whisker Graphics September Project

Here's the project that I have blogged on the Whisker Graphics Blog today.

My friend Andrea opened up her own business called Home Sweet Creations where she hand pours all natural candles. Right now, she's focused on creating lovely scents and custom candles. She asked me if I could help her come up with some nice packaging for either boutiques or craft fairs. She also offers plain candles that you can decorate yourself for weddings, parties, etc... You can find them on Facebook HERE.

The first part of Andrea's problem was that customers don't really want a label on the candle advertising a brand, she does have her info on the bottom of the candles. To solve this, I simply cut part of a kraft Grid Little Bitty Bag and slipped it under the decoration with her business card in it. It's not so in your face, but a customer can take the card and keep it for further purchases.

Here's what the candle looks like without the business information. This is how a person would display it in their home. Just a few simple steps really takes the value of the candle up and makes this nice enough to sell in a fancy boutique.

Love My Tapes Altered Frame

Here's a frame I made and posted on the Love My Tapes blog last week.

All you have to do it peel the backing off the fabric sheet and place the frame on the fabric. Then trim off the excess, you can do this with ultra sharp scissors or a craft knife. I choose to ink the edges with some Memento ink to add a bit of age to this project. The butterfly was also cut from a fabric sheet, I just ran it through my Cuttlebug twice and it was able to die cut it then I added the pearls. I added our beautiful Lace Tape and then used our Lily Fabric Tape to make the flowers adding a gem in the center and free hand cut the leaves from our Jane Fabric Tape. In the middle of the frame, I put a stamped image and sentiment from Unity Stamp Co.

All Things Unity: Alter It!

Hi friends! I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend! We are doing really well over here! YAY! I love it!

Today, I have a new All Things Unity challenge for you! It's a super fun one too! It's "Alter It." You can alter anything you want ie frames, journals, etc... All you have to do is alter an item using Unity or Ippity stamps.

Here's my project for this week. I actually already bought this frame before I knew about this challenge because I was gonna alter it for the Unity Co-Brand challenge but I didn't get around to it. I think I might want to make it a little more decorative but I'm not sure. I had a vision of making a frame for my boys with some Echo Park Little Boy. How perfect are these stamps and this paper?! Seriously, even the colors matched the kids's shirts.

My friend Diane and I were talking about ATC trays and whatnot today and I mentioned to her that I had recently made one. Well, I guess I didn't blog it because she had no idea what I was talking about. But it's not too late! ;)

I made this tray for the Unity Co-Brand challenge from last month. I decided to use Unity and Bella Blvd. I made this tray featuring the house we just moved into and some pictures of our family that were taken here. It's my first tray but I'm pretty happy with it.

Altered Notebook

Hi friends! I hope you all are having a great Thursday! We took a trip to CVS this morning and went to the grocery store. I'm kind of spent already. What can you do? The kids are happy at least.

Here's a notebook I made for an altered notebook contest over at The Greeting Farm blog. I didn't win but I still love my notebook so I decided to share with you. :) I don't alter things often. You know, I like the world

inside of my A2 box. But this was a fun one to make. I used a regular composition book. In retrospect, I would have picked on with a brown binding if I had to do this over again. I thought very briefly about painting the binding but I decided against it.

Also, I'm addicted to crinkled ribbon! It's SOOOO fabulous! I used it to make 4 looped bow here. I might need to get my own seam binding so I can make my own. I haven't done that yet.

Here's a close up so you can see the coloring on Flutter Anya. She's one of my very favorite stamps. I think she's pretty sweet. I covered the pink part of the wings with some Stickles.

Hey everyone! Hope you had a great Monday! I've been pretty busy for the last couple days and I'm still feeling kind of sick. I suppose I should call the doctor, yet again. Oy! It makes me super tired. Anyhow, things will get better, I'm sure.

This is a project I made for the EAD Design team call a little big ago. I didn't make the team, but I thought I'd show you this banner since I think it's pretty cute.

I wish I would have taken more pictures of this. I don't know why I didn't. Anyhow, I made this for my own creative space. And since it is for ME, I decided to make it with all the stuff that I like. I used Basic Grey's Urban Prairie which is my favorite paper. There's tons of bling, butterflies, hearts, and glitter. Black and white ribbon, stick pins, pleats....pretty much everything I love. :)

Here's another picture, taken with different light. Again, I wish I would have taken pictures of each of the pieces separately. I couldn't wait to post pictures though, since I really love this.

Ok, so here's a gift bag I decided needed a little decoration. I used a couple elements from my Birds of a Feather kit for this one. The card stock and the patterned paper are both from the set. I edged the card stock with some Pink Paislee deco tape. Then I punched some butterflies out of the patterned paper (also Pink Paislee.) I added some bling for a little extra pop and there you have it. I'm waiting to stamp a sentiment on this until I know what I'm going to use it for.

For my entry, I altered a little tin. I thought it would be fun to have a tin full of yummy cocktail recipes for when friends come over. I used the very appropriately named Cocktail Party set. I made this first recipe card using Bro's favorite cocktail recipe, the 007 cocktail. Sounds yummy! The black and white paper is Me and My Big Ideas. The textured paper is Paper Adventures.
