A Couple More VSN Cards

Hey all, I hope that you are doing well. We have a little break in the rain today and I think I'm going to do run errands. Yesterday, we have a THUNDER storm with hail! Yikes! It scared the baby so bad, he couldn't sleep. I'm hoping that doesn't happen again.

Ok, a couple more VSN cards. It was a REALLY fun VSN this last time! This card was made for the Sharpen Your Blades challenge. The challenge was to use your scoring tool to make a background for your card. I'm totally embarrassed to admit that I have A LOT of problems with scoring. I am just not good at it. I wish I was. I don't think I could score a frame if my life depended on it. And I REALLY wanted to score diagonal lines but I couldn't figure it out so you just have your normal grid here. The tree is from Ippity's What Matters Most and the sentiment is from Ippity's Just Wanted to Say. (Both available in my sidebar with $5 of each set going to Tyler Armstrong's Leukemia fund.)
This next card was for the Go For the Gold challenge, to use gold on your card. I've had this ribbon FOREVER and really wanted to use it. I didn't know what kind of DP would go with it so I opted to not use any. The stamps are from Ippity's Regal Greetings set (available in my right sidebar.) I stamped the flourish on the bottom in gold ink. Then I used brown to stamp the frame on some Kraft paper. Then gold ink again for the sentiment. Easy peasy.

Have a great day everyone!

A Couple Cards and I Was Mentioned on Moxie Fab!!

First off, did you see the Moxie Fab World blog post for today?!?! Cath mentioned me for my Fun with Floss card! :) This is the first time I've been mentioned for Moxie Fab challenges so I'm very excited! It was quite the way to start my day!

Ok, here are a couple cards I made for VSN. The first card was for the challenge to make a card based on someone in your life who inspires you and to use 3 ribbons on the card. I chose my sons as my inspiration and made a monster card. Teehee, I crack myself up. They are sweet but they are definitely little monsters! This card used The Paper Studio's Jeepers Creepers stamp set. The DP is Stampin Up. The punch is Fiskars Apron Lace. I colored the images with my Copics and some Sakura gel pen for the metallic on Frankenstein. I echoed that metallic silver on the sentiment using a silver ink.

This next card was for a VSN challenge to make a card having to do with water as a theme. I pulled out my new Paper Makeup Stamps and made this little card. The DP here is Stampin Up again. The die cut is Nesties Label 1. The ribbon is from Joann's.

Have a great week everyone! I hope you all are well! And don't forget about my fundraiser in the post directly below this one.

One More for VSN

Here's another card I made for VSN. This is for the Orchid Soup challenge to make a card with a flower and a circle. I CASEd Jeanne Streiff's idea of making the Unity clouds into a flower. This card uses the Unity July 09 KOTM. I actually crumpled the background paper for more texture, it's Colorbok.

Today, we are off to my grandpa's funeral. Dustin was able to take a day off for bereavement so he'll be accompanying me and both kids (per request of my parents) to the service. This will be the first time that we will attend an event like this together and obviously, the first time for the kids. Wish us luck!

Here's a picture of the last time we got to see Grandpa Sid. He was in the hospital. Still sweet. Still funny. Still a joy to be around. I'm thankful for these pictures.

Have a good Wednesday my sweet friends.

My Sunshine

Here's another card I made for VSN. It was for the My Favorite Martini challenge and I picked the Cosmo. The recipe is regal rose, pumpkin pie, white, and yellow. The garnishes were Stickles and ribbon.

My card uses Unity's July 09 KOTM. I love this stamp! I think it's PERFECT for my boys! :) I covered the sun in Stickles so it really sparkles. The designer paper is Making Memories. I love paisley. Did you know? I want to name one of my kids Paisley but DH is a no go.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Bug Hugs for Tiff

So, funny story. I was having a BAD day and I was venting to my sweet friend Tiffany. After comforting me and giving me support, she writes "Bug Hugs." She quickly fixed her typo, she had meant "big hugs" but I thought bug hugs was super cute so it kind of stuck.

I told Tiff she should make me a Bug Hugs card (click to see it) and I thought I should make her one too. You can see how thoroughly different our styles are if you look at the cards. I also made this for VSN Knife Skills challenge. The challenge was to use any cutting tools available to you, I used my Cuttlebug to cut out these butterflies. The little sentiment is from Unity Stamp Company. The designer paper is Stampin Up. I added pearls, ribbon, and dew drops.

Have a happy Monday everyone and BUG HUGS to all of you!

Friday! YAY!

Happy Hip Hop Hangover everyone!  I hope you all had a lovely Thursday and an awesome weekend planned for you!

Here's the last of my vacation/VSN cards.  This was for a challenge with a sketch that looks like a slot machine.  I used this adorable butterfly from Unity's September KOTM.  And all the paper, other than the base, is Basic Grey Gypsy that my friend Kristen sent to me.

Off to start my day, sorry about the late post!  Hugs!

Hello

Here's another card I did on vacation.  I'm pretty proud of myself for stamping while I was in Tahoe.  It was nice though, to just sit and stamp and relax.  I think I will be bringing my supplies with me on vacation more often.  (Like I'll be going on vacation with a newborn and a toddler.)

This card is for the VSN challenge to make a monochromatic green card.  Let me tell you, VSN inspires me SO much!  All the challenges with the time limit just gets my mojo going!  I used Unity's April KOTM on this card.  I didn't pack any embellies with me when we went on vacation (it was my first time packing supplies!) so it's kind of a plain card.

Happy Thursday!  It's Hip Hop Day!

Flutter By Wednesday #58

Good Wednesday morning friends!  I'm back from vacation and slowly adjusting to real life again.  Sigh...my child was beyond spoiled while I was gone so it's gonna be a rough day!

Anyhow, Wednesday means Flutter By Challenge day on Danni's blog!  This week's theme is to use two different kinds of patterned paper with your butterflies or fairies on your card!  Check out Danni's blog for this week's special guest designer's creation.  The guest is Jodi Collins.  And check out this week's featured stamper, Stef who I adore!

I made two cards this week WHILE on vacation!  Go me!  The first card, it's hard to tell but the two side butterflies are cut out of different DP than the argyle background.  I used the Unity April KOTM on this card.  This is also for Lee's VSN challenge to glitter an entire panel or image.  I put Stickles on all three butterflies.  They are COATED!  Though you really can't tell in this photo.

This next card, I made just in case you all thought I was cheating on the last one.  Teehee!  I used a green and a pink DP so you could definitely tell I used two.  The stamps are from Unity's March KOTM.  I didn't bring ANY embellishments with me on my trip except Stickles.  I forgot them all!  So, I just added some doodling to this card.

Please play along with us!  If you upload to PCP or SCS, use keyword FBW!  And check out the rest of the DT on my sidebar!  >>>>

My VSN Challenge

Good morning from beautiful Lake Tahoe! :) It was QUITE the effort to get here. At one point, a 4 lane freeway was closed down to just one lane because of a huge accident/fire. It took us 2 hours to go 2 miles. I almost DIED of impatience, discomfort, and heat! We came VERY close to the car overheating. But now, we are here in Tahoe and trying to enjoy our weekend! Enough blabbering.

This is my sample for my own challenge over at SCS for VSN. (There's still time to play, you have until Tuesday night to upload! There are prizes too!) My challenge is called Lucky Number Seven (the beautiful Ms Shannon Bracken posted it for me.) All you have to do is use SEVEN of any embellishment that you use. I did 7 inches of ribbon, 7 pearls, 7 rhinestones, and 7 dots of Stickles. This card uses Unity's Big Polka Dot Cupcake for this card.

I've brought supplies with me to make more cards but SCS seems to be down so I don't know if I'll be able to do it. Happy Sunday friends!

Random.Brady and EIC35 Winner

This is Random.Brady on Mother's Day.  :)  We went to the park and brought some frozen yogurt with us.  It was a great way to end the day.  Look at his dimples!  Isn't he the cutest?  I think so!

I need to apologize at being so slow commenting on all the EtsyInspired Challenges.  I'm just SO tired and so busy these days.  I'm sloooooooowly getting around to everyone.

This week's Random.Brady EtsyInspired challenge winner is Michelle!  You can see Michelle's beautiful card right HERE.  It's so springy and pretty!  Michelle, email me your address and I will put So and So Loves in the mail for you!  And thank you to Bealoo for being a wonderful  inspiration shop this week!

YAY!  Happy weekend everyone!  And don't forget to come to the VSN tonight and tomorrow!  I hear there are TONS of amazing prizes you can win!

One More for VSN and VOTE for Shannon!!

This is my late VSN card.  I couldn't make the deadline for all the challenges since it was a rough weekend for a lot of my friends and I just wasn't in the mood to create.  I think I'm going to try to do the rest of the challenges anyhow just to support my fellow VSN Hostesses!  Don't forget the BIG EVENT is coming up on May 16!!

This is for Carolina's challenge to make a card based on your favorite cocktail.  I found this really cool bag from Trader Joe's and HAD to use it.  I guess wine isn't really a cocktail but oh well.  I cut the wine glass, sentiment, and the circle I matted the sentiment from off the bag.  Woohoo reusing!  The stamp I used on the bottom of the card is Unity's Wine Rack.

In other news: Shannon Bracken (Mrs.Mac) has made it on to week 7 of MFT Idol!  She NEEDS our votes to stay in the competition!  Please help her go ALL the way by voting HERE!

More VSN and Happy Birthday Unity!

I have a couple more cards that I made at VSN to share today.  Remember, you have until 10pm tonight to make cards for VSN mini and get entered to win a prize!  Woohoo!  How awesome is that?

This first one is for Carole's challenge.  The challenge was to be inspired by one of the Beatle's songs from the show LOVE.  You can find the challenge HERE.  I was inspired by the song I Want To Hold Your Hand.  I used an image for Unity's April KOTM.  I really wanted to use pink since Carole loves pink!  And of course, I love pink and brown.  The DP is SU, the ribbon is American Crafts, and I added Primas, a brad, and some Stickles.

The next card was made for Jen's strip challenge.  She challenged us to use strips to paper on our card.  You can find her challenge HERE.  This was quite the challenge for me since I don't like to measure and make sure everything is straight and tidy.  I know, from a CAS card maker, isn't that shocking??

I made this card with Unity's Bouncy Blue which the AMAZING Lynn Warner sent to me for winning a RAK on her blog.  She's the sweetest!  She sent me a bunch of stuff!  On this card, I made the strips and used the same paper to paper piece the stroller.  I just stamped the sentiment directly on the card base and added some Stickles.  Super easy peasy!

And speaking of Unity, (I used ALL Unity on these cards) they are celebrating their first birthday this week!  Woohoo!  It's so fun!  Check out the Unity Blog for all the amazing details!  There's gonna be challenges, games, and prizes galore!

VSN Mini Cards

Yesterday was VSN Mini on Splitcoast.  Ack, how fun!  I had lots of mojo going in the morning but it puttered out  in the afternoon so I still have challenges to do.  But that's ok!  Since you have until Monday at 10pm to upload your cards for the VSN.

My first card was for the VSN challenge 1.  Sandy gave a point break down of what things on our cards were worth and we were supposed to try for 21.  Go HERE for the challenge.  I was inspired by my two little guys when making this card.  The red monkey is Brady and the little blue monkey is Parkie.  Aren't they cute??  This stamp set is Unity's Wild and Crazy Bunch, a must have for mommies with boys!  ;)

The beautiful Princess Cleo from Pez-A-Doodle returns for my next card.  The challenge was to use lots and lots of GOLD on your card.  You can find the challenge HERE.  I used some metallic gold card stock (DCWV), colored the gorgeous Cleo in gold sparkly gel pen, and I used gold Pez-a-Bling.

Today, I'm off to get my maternity pictures taken by my step sister.  :)  If they turn out well, I might share a couple here.  Happy Sunday Friends!

Reverting Back

This card was made for a VSN challenge on SCS.  The challenge was to be inspired by the shark reef at the Mandalay Bay Hotel Casino.  Also, you had to use a playing card on your project.

I kind of reverted back to my old ways on this card, it's not what I would call Clean and Simple.  I have no idea why I did it but what can you do?  The card is from a scrapbooking deck I got at the Dollar Tree.  It has 54 "playing cards" with different words and definitions on them.  The little whales are from Unity's Mix Up of Cuteness set.  I paper pieced them and used pop dots to give more dimension.  I'm not sure I like this card but I guess it meets the requirements of the challenge and that's good.  :)

So, today is DAY ONE of no dada.  We are doing well so far but it's before lunch still so we'll see how the day goes.  Happy Monday everyone!

Viva Las VSN

So, after last week and the mini album I made, I'm kind of tapped on mojo.  But I really wanted to play along with some VSN challenges for the mini yesterday.  If you didn't get a chance to play along, you still have until tomorrow (Monday) to submit your creations!

My first card is for Jenn Buck's challenge.  The challenge was so be inspired by the beautiful flowers on the Bellagio Casino ceiling.  And to use a transparency on your card.  This is the ONLY transparency I have.  You might remember it from last time I had to do a clear card challenge.  I just stamped a sentiment from Unity's Aug KOTM, added some bling, and a flower with a brad.  Super simple but like I said, I don't have a lot left in me after last week.

The next card I made is for my good pal Sherry Campbell's challenge.  She asked us to be inspired by the colors of the Venetian Hotel.  Now, the Venetian is one of my favorites since it has a gondola ride that runs through it and the whole thing looks like Italy.  It's a very pretty hotel.  The colors Sherry had us use are burgundy, gold/yellow, blue, and white/cream.  Again, tapped for mojo, I went super simple.  This is Unity's Gratitude = Joy stamp set.  I just layered paper.

Anyhow, the next VSN mini will take place in April.  I hope you will join us.  It's just a fun day of chatting on the SCS forums, lots of challenges, making new friends, and you can even get chances to win prizes.  I LOVE VSN!
